Eyes on the Lake

Session Description: Want to know more about how technology enables scientists to predict weather and wave conditions on the Great Lakes? This online session will:
• Explore current MTU research supporting recreational boating, shipping, and ferry operations in the Great Lakes through an observational weather buoy network
• Engage participants in understanding how buoy and weather data is collected, why it is important, and how data can be used in the classroom.
• Share teaching resources and data sources related to Great Lakes observations.
• Explore coastal hazards vulnerability in the Keweenaw related to water safety
