Come to the Lake Superior Celebration ~ 6-8 pm, Thursday, April 20 !!
Come to the Lake Superior Celebration ~ 6-8 pm, Thursday, April 20 at Michigan Tech’s Great Lakes Research Center

The community is invited to the Lake Superior Celebration at Michigan Tech's Great Lakes Research Center (GLRC) from 6-8 pm, Thursday, April 20. The event is FREE, family-friendly, and open to all.

The Celebration will include informative exhibits by more than a dozen local agencies and organizations, fun hands-on activities for K-5 students including boat-making with natural materials, pollinator activities, World Water Day art exhibit, and displays & presentations by Lake Superior Stewardship Initiative (LSSI) school teams. In addition, there will be presentations about Geoheritage Interpretation in Local Schoolyards and the Keweenaw Time Travelers project.


Light refreshments, including trail mix, cake, lemonade & coffee, will be available.

The event is sponsored by the Lake Superior Stewardship Initiative, Michigan STEM Partnership, Western U.P. Center for Science, Mathematics and Environmental Education, Michigan Tech Center for Science & Environmental Outreach, and the Great Lake Research Center.
