Lake Linden-Hubbell Frisbee Golf Course Moving Forward
Teachers and community members had a productive planning session this past week. We were able to establish locations for 9 holes and 9 tees. The next step in the development of our project is to set a date for digging holes and "planting" the basket receivers. In addition, we may also choose to place markers for tees in the ground as our tee signs will be designed and created over the winter months. Brian Baccus, owner of Peninsula Powder Coating, is one of our LSSI partners. He is going to powder coat our baskets in LL-H school colors and plans to have them completed by the 2nd week of November. Our immediate plan/goal is to have a work day to dig holes and "plant" the receiving collars in the ground. In addition, we may also want to establish markers for our tees as the signs will not be completed until spring. It is our hope to have the baskets in place and the "bugs" worked out before snow flies. Next spring we will then continue the project by creating a kiosk at the beginning of the course and tee signs with educational panels, hole maps, as well as sponsorship plaques. In addition, we will strategically place trash receptacles, park benches, and a picnic table.
