LSSI application to the Strong Organization for Strong Youth program accepted
The LSSI Leadership Team application to the Strong Organization for
Strong Youth (SOSY) program was accepted. SOSY is a program of the
Great Lakes Center for Youth Development (www.glcyd.org). The SOSY
Program is an opportunity for U.P. nonprofits to access capacity
building services and training through a new grant-funded program
sponsored by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services
Compassion Capital Fund Demonstration Program. SOSY will work with
many small faith and community-based organizations across the U.P. to
build their capacity through:
• Increasing their effectiveness and sustainability
• Enhancing their ability to provide social services
• Expanding their organizations
• Diversifying their funding sources
• Creating collaborations
• Better serving those most in need

LSSI is now a member of this organization, the leadership team is
required to participate in at least 4 workshops at the Copper Country
ISD site. SOSY encourages that we extend an invitation to the members
of our advisory board to participate in any workshop sessions they
wish. The workshops are free of charge to all SOSY members and their
advisory board members. Below are the workshop options. Shawn has
applied for 0.3 SB-CEUs for each session.

All workshops take place at the Copper Country ISD
