Thank you! Dr. Alex Mayer, Michigan Tech Center for Water and Society
Dr. Alex Mayer, Director
Michigan Tech Center for Water and Society

Thank you for your donation of valuable time and expertise to the Lake Superior Stewardship Initiative (LSSI). The Center for Water and Society was one of the initial partners on the successful grant proposal submitted to the Great Lakes Fishery Trust in October 2007 to establish LSSI. Dr. Mayer served as one of the key writers of this proposal and was instrumental in transforming the thoughts and spirit of the planning committee (teachers, administrators, and community organizations and agencies)into an effective mission and vision for LSSI.

Dr. Mayer supports the Initiative on a regular basis through his work on the LSSI Advisory Board. He has contributed many hours to assisting partner LSSI school teams as they implement their stewardship projects. He has worked with Hancock High School, Hancock Middle School and Houghton Middle School on water quality monitoring at their project sites.

Keep up the great work!
