Fall Outdoor Science Investigations field trip program kicks off; welcomes new coordinator
The Western Upper Peninsula Center for Science, Mathematics, and Environmental Education is pleased to announce that registration for the 2014 Fall Outdoor Science Investigations Field Trip Program is now open. The fall field trips will run from September 22 through November 26, and are open to all public, private and home schools.
Please see the attached Fall Field Trip brochure for descriptions of each field trip for grades K-8. The field trip information, teacher letter, brochure and registration form may be accessed from the Centers website: CLICK HERE.
Fall field trips provide students with an opportunity to apply science concepts through a variety of hands-on activities outdoors, while addressing the Michigan GLCEs.
Cost
The Kinship Foundation has provided partial funding for this program for the past six years. To help defray our costs we will be charging $30 per field trip per class (up to 30 students).
Field trip scheduling
Field trip programs run approximately 1-1.5 hours, with all of the time outdoors. Appropriate dress is a must! In case of inclement weather, it will be your responsibility to call the Center/field trip coordinator and cancel before your scheduled trip.
Upon receipt of your Field Trip Request, you will receive an email confirmation of the date, time, and location of your field trip. Register for your Field Trip soon to increase the likelihood of receiving your preferred date. Please contact the field trip coordinator if you have any questions.
