Washington Middle School conducts a variety of projects at Calumet Waterworks Township Park, including Adopt-a-Beach (trash pick-up), invasive species removal, native plant restoration, and school forest management. As part of the school forest project, students will gather data and make informed decisions as they develop a forest management plan that promotes a healthy sustainable forest and filters surface water runoff to protect the waters of Lake Superior.
